Yacht Club/ Marina of the Year Contest!

1.) This contest will be open to all marinas/ yacht clubs regardless of their affiliation with us or any of our sponsors. The judging criteria will be the same for both marinas and yacht clubs.

Judging Criteria:

The main judging criteria are as follows:

      *Customer Service

      *Marketing

      *Safety

      *Facility Improvements

      *Environmental Stewardship

*We are looking for leading marinas/ yacht clubs in these fields.
*There will not be an advantage for being a larger facility.

2.) Selecting the winners will be a three part process. Interested candidates must fill out a questionnaire in order to be considered. Of those individuals we will take into account the number of boater votes that they have received. Once the candidates have been narrowed down to ten marinas and ten yacht clubs we will have a panel of industry professionals from multiple associations across the world vote for their top ten (five marinas and five yacht clubs). Each process is detailed below.

Questionnaire: Interested candidates will need to fill out a questionnaire (visible on every page within pickaslip.com) that will evaluate the facilities based on the judging criteria above. Candidates must fill out all fields indicating how they excel in each as well as upload photographs of their facility (which can be done from the same page) with their application.

Boater Votes: We had a two-field ‘Marina of the Year’ questionnaire for boaters to place their vote. This allows them to choose their favorite facilities and get actively involved in the process. Boaters will simply need to fill out their name and the marina/ yacht club that they would like to vote for (visible on every page within pickaslip.com). The facilities with the most votes from boaters will be tallied up, recorded, and narrowed down. We will limit the number of votes to one vote per IP address to prevent multiple votes from one individual. This boater voting process will narrow the field down to the top 10 marinas and the top 10 yacht clubs.

Industry Professional/s Votes: After boater votes determine the top 10 marinas and the top 10 yacht clubs, the final round of judging will be conducted by members of the marine industry. This panel of industry professionals is comprised of the president and vice president of various associations across the world. Any legitimate marina association is allowed to enter this panel and cast their vote. The representatives from each association will vote for the top 5 marinas and top 5 yacht clubs that we have narrowed it down to (only one vote per association can be for a member for their association).
