How long have you been in business?

A: Pick A Slip first came to be in February of 2011 although research and development began in early 2008. Several research studies were performed before entering this exciting industy!

 


Q: How much traffic will my marina's profile receive on Pick A Slip?

A: This varies depending on the marina's location, however, the average marina on Pick A Slip receives anywhere from 100 to 500 unique boater views from search results each month. This may not seem like a lot but the searches that we get our customers to come up in have an industry leading conversion rate of 1-3% (33-100 clicks converts into a customer).

 


Q: How can you guarantee visibility?

A: We market each marina that we list on an individual basis for the region and city that they are in and the body of water that they are on. We are able to guarantee visibility because on Pick A Slip you are more than just a name on a list! We do all the work behind the scenes to make sure that Google, Yahoo, and Bing are able to locate your listing when a boater is searching online.

 


Q: How do I know if I got a boater through your service or not?

A: Measuring your return on investment can be a difficult task when it comes to marketing. For that reason we add an inquiry form to each marina's profile for boaters to fill out. This populates a sales lead that gets Emailed directly to the marina. We also share analytic data, supported by Google Analytics, to each marina. This data includes:

  • Total number of unique views
  • Total number of clicks
  • Average time on profile
  • Bounce rate
  • Number of boaters that clicked your website link
  • Number of boater inquiry forms 
  • Number of boater votes you received for the 'Marina of the Year'

We believe that these two things in combination with the guaranteed visibility in search results is sufficient in determining whether or not you were capable of hitting your return on investment. Afterall, you only need ONE boater in a full year of us marketing you in order to make money off of the service!

 


Q: Is the average boater on Pick A Slip looking for transient, weekly, monthly, or yearly (seasonal) boat slips?

A: The breakdown of boaters that have filled out inquiries for marinas that we are marketing are as follows:

  1. 49% - Annual or Seasonal Boat Slips
  2. 22% - Monthly Boat Slips
  3. 8% - Transient Boat Slips
  4. 7% - Boat Rentals
  5. 7% - Moorings
  6. 7% - Other
